Okay, maybe it’s not such a secret. I’m a sucker for a well designed chair. Here are a few of my faves… (in pic above, from left to right)
(1) Eames Lounge. Modern Classic. Mine is in ivory leather, like the photo above, and I love it. Not much else to say here, I mean, c’mon- it’s Eames. (and Charles & Ray Eames are a huge inspiration to me as a designer)
(2) The Holz chair- an exclusive to Design Within Reach, this bentwood chair was inspired by Thonet as well as Josef Hoffman. Mine is RED. I bought the Holz for my office originally, but instead decided to use it as a side chair in my dining room. There are lots of places where this chair would work.
(3) Herman Miller’s Mirra Chair- I know, many are in love with the Aeron chair, also good design and functional, but I fell in love with Mirra the moment I sat down. It just fits me and my height/body type the best. Office chairs are like that- a very personal choice, and there really are a lot of good designs out there. This one is for me.

Another good site for high quality designer chairs is http://www.OfficeDesigns.com. I purchased an Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman for my home and I was impressed with their selection. They also shipped the chair for free which was a bonus. The chair is absolutely gorgeous and truly completes my living room.
